"Warnings about cigarettes"WARNING: This word says a lot, however many people choose to ignore the word. It is as if the word is invisible, or simply does not exist at all. Warning is a word that usually means something is bad or harmful to ones body or health or warnings draw attention to a potentially harmful situation or an event. Most smokers do not even know that there is a warning message on ever carton, package, and every bag or tobacco product on the market today. In addition, the smokers do not know what the warnings state. Warning: smoking cigarettes while pregnant may cause birth defects Warning: smoking cigarettes may cause lung cancer Warning: smoking cigarettes may increase the risk of a heart attack or stroke Warnings like these and other warnings are displayed on each tobacco product on the market today. The tobacco companies put the warnings on the products for a reason, because the products can and are harmful to the people or smokers who smoke or use the products. So many of the warnings on the tobacco products are ignored by smokers or are ineffective today that the tobacco companies and cigarette manufacturers will begin placing pictorial warnings on the products. This change should take effect sometime with in the next year. It seems that the government thinks that the written warnings are ineffective as well and want a different form of warnings on the tobacco products. However, different form the written warnings to the picture warnings or symbols will not make a difference the smokers will continue to smoke and use the tobacco products. Recently the price of tobacco products jumped a sum of around $20.00 to $30.00 or more depending upon where the products purchased this was an attempt to deter smokers and people from using and smoking. However, smoking is such a powerfully addicting habit that the cost jump did not affect most smokers. Despite the warnings, the commercials on the televisions around the world the tobacco companies have started something they have no control over now. The smoking addiction is profitable business they only place the warnings on the products because the government makes the companies do so. If people were to heed the warnings, the tobacco companies would be out of business. Most of the time it takes an actual heart attack, a stroke, or a major illness before a dedicated addicted smoker will force him or her self to quit smoking it has noting to do with the warnings on the products at all. People WARNING: means danger, possible harm, bad for you, could hurt you or your loved ones, means think before you try smoking that cigarette WARNING: means CAUTION. Red flags should go up in a persons mind when they see the word warning a warning it placed on something for a good reason because it is bad for you.
